Ten places worth your time, from the rock on the 20-yuan note to a Ming prince's palace in the middle of town. Most are within twenty minutes of each other; two are a half-day drive.
Do the Li River cruise. It is the reason Guilin is famous, it takes most of a day, and nothing else compares with it. If you have a second day, add Longji — it is the only major sight here that is not limestone scenery.
For a half day in the city, Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill and Reed Flute Cave fit comfortably into an afternoon, and our city day trip runs all three with a driver who knows where to park.
Guilin's city sights are close together — Fubo Hill to Elephant Trunk Hill is a fifteen- minute walk along the river. Longji is 90 kilometres north, Chengyang 140 kilometres. A driver makes the city circuit trivial and the mountain days possible; see our price list for what that costs.
Send your dates and route. We confirm the vehicle, the driver and a fixed price — usually within 2 hours.
